Paper or digital loyalty card?
Last updated: 24 October 2026
Many shops in Algeria reward their regulars with a paper card and a rubber stamp. It costs little and everyone understands it. Here is what changes with a digital loyalty card such as IkhlassDZ — and where paper keeps the advantage.
Side by side
| Paper stamp card | IkhlassDZ digital card | |
|---|---|---|
| The card is lost | The stamps are lost with it. | The card belongs to the customer's account: on a new phone they sign in again and the balance is there. |
| The customer forgets it | No card, no stamp. | The card is on their phone, and staff can also find it with an 8-character code. |
| Who are your customers? | You do not know: the card is in their pocket. | A customer list with each one's visits, which you can export. |
| Extra or copied stamps | A stamp can be copied, or given twice. | Every stamp is recorded with the counter, the employee and the time; unusual activity is flagged for your review. |
| Is it working? | No way to measure it. | The dashboard shows returning customers, the repeat-visit rate, new cards and rewards used. |
| Bringing customers back | You wait for them. | Automatic notices (a reward ready, one stamp to go) and offers to the customers who agreed to receive them. |
| Several branches | One card per shop, or stamps nobody can check. | One programme, and one balance per customer, in every branch. |
| What it costs | Printed cards and a stamp. | A subscription per counter after a free two-month trial; no hardware to buy. |
| A customer without a smartphone | Works. | Cannot join: the card needs a phone with a camera and internet. |
When paper is enough
If most of your customers have no smartphone, or you never need to know who they are, paper does the job. If you want to know your regulars, stop losing stamps and bring customers back, a digital card does what paper cannot.
